A：How's it going?

A：最近好吗?

B：Actually, very bad. I'm tired out between family and work.

A：A friend of mine recently downgraded her job, cut her hours and her paycheck, so that she could pick up her daughter from school.

B：I always feel very guilty for my children when I have to work overtime. You know, they anxiously wait for me back home.

A：It isn't easy for work-life balance, espe?cially for women to balance many con?cerns in their lives, including work, hus?band, kids, health. But why not ask your boss for flexible work option?

A：Sure. Working some hours in the office and some hours at home allows for more time with the family.You can have email coverage on evenings and week?ends rather than strictly during office hours, which also benefited your em?ployer.

B：Maybe I should try, but I am afraid my boss will refuse it.
