尽管Art Nouveau这个法国名字异常的华丽Fancy，让人充满想象，可是翻成中文却非常的直白 - 新艺术主义。古董美术商Samuel Bing萨穆尔·宾是新艺术之父，1895年他在巴黎的普罗旺斯大街开设了一件名为La Maison Art Nouveau 新艺术之家的东洋美术店，店中陈列的，都是同一风格的独特产品，于是，后人便称这种风格为Art Nouveau。有趣的是，在法国，这种风格却只是被简单的称为Style Moderne现代主义，直白的简直让人失去兴致。

Art Nouveau是20世纪现代主义的前奏，是艺术风格中活力的象征，大量的应用波浪和流动线条，使传统装饰仿佛拥有的生命，变现形式往往相似于植物的生长性。Art Nouveau是所有风格主义中应用于建筑和室内设计最多的，萃取了Rococo洛可可风格中的自然现象元素，比如火焰和贝壳的纹理，摒弃了Victoria维多利亚风格的写实主义，并添加了更多的自然有机生物元素，如海藻、草之类的植物或昆虫，形成了高度纹理性，却又唯美、浪漫、感性精致的独到风格。

因此，Art Nouveau的图案性和曲线性风格非常容易辨认，并在建筑风格、室内设计、家具和织物设计、器皿、艺术品等各个方面都有广泛应用。要打造Art Nouveau的家居设计风格，只要简单的抓住植物花卉的波浪流动线条，便可以了。而调节线条的繁复与密度，Art Nouveau风格的浓淡和感受都会有奇妙的变化！

Art Nouveau (French pronunciation: [aʁ nuvo], Anglicised to /ˈɑrt nuːˈvoʊ/) is an international movement[2] and style of art, architecture and applied art—especially the decorative arts—that peaked in popularity at the turn of the 20th century (1890–1905).[3] The name "Art Nouveau" is French for "new art". 了解达达主义Dadaism，最简单的方式便是从1917年杜尚的标志性达达主义作品“Fountain”开始。这个由原来的男式便池改造为的“泉”，无需一句话一个单词，让每一个看客从心底里感受到了源于20世纪瑞士的达达主义的超现实，虚无主义，非理性，拒绝约定俗成，反艺术，反压抑。

其实达达的本意也并非是言语所能描述的，而是一种感受。Dada，是法语中婴儿最初的发音，意在代表新生儿呀呀学语期间，对周围事物的纯生理反应。达达主义的宣扬者，认定艺术必须像新生儿那样，无思想干扰束缚，只表达感官的直接印象。而中产阶级价值观中的文艺艺术，好比蒙娜丽莎的微笑，都是僵化呆板的压抑力量。

达达主义室内装饰的本身，不在于舒适性、不在于易用性、不在于和谐、不在于传统美感，而在于突兀。个人觉得，打造家居达达主义风，一件Signature Piece就已经足够表达你的态度了。Dadaism，或自己创作由杜尚或纪尧姆画作中得到灵感的赝品，或是仿达利风格的一个融化的钟或红唇沙发，融入你自己性格的达达设计风，才是真正的达达主义贯彻者。

Dada or Dadaism is a cultural movement that began in Zürich, Switzerland, during World War I and peaked from 1916 to 1922.[1] The movement primarily involved visual arts, literature—poetry, art manifestoes, art theory—theatre, and graphic design, and concentrated its anti-war politics through a rejection of the prevailing standards in art through anti-art cultural works. Its purpose was to ridicule what its participants considered to be the meaninglessness of the modern world. In addition to being anti-war, dada was also anti-bourgeois and anarchistic in nature.

Dada activities included public gatherings, demonstrations, and publication of art/literary journals; passionate coverage of art, politics, and culture were topics often discussed in a variety of media. The movement influenced later styles like the avant-garde and downtown music movements, and groups including surrealism, Nouveau réalisme, pop art, Fluxus and punk rock.
